Known to be the Las Vegas of Asia and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
I recently made a short trip to Macau and stayed in a beautiful casino hotel along the Cotai Strip in Studio City. Prior to this, I have not heard about this hotel as it is very newly opened and the last time I was there, I don’t recall seeing it under construction.
I had top-notch service from the hotel the moment I landed and it is truly worthy to be known as a 5-star hotel with excellent hospitality, guest service and amenities.
Look how grand this place is, I feel like I should be floating down in a ball gown here. Their decor might not be my cup of tea but I can only imagine how perfect this place is to host large-scale events.
As soon as I landed, I had a private limo arranged to whisk me straight to the hotel. Bringing me straight to the check-in counter and in a matter of minutes, I got my key card and my weekend retreat could start. Mind you, I arrived around 11AM in the morning, way ahead of their check-in time but was pleased that I could have an early check-in.
Walaaaah! The beautiful sight that greeted me once I walked through the hotel doors. I stayed in their Star Tower Twin Suite which can comfortably host 2-3 people but might get slightly crowded for 4 pax. Then again, the more the merrier!
The living area is simple, minimal and modern with a touch of luxury. They have a kettle, coffee machine, cute tea set, mini bar and some snacks in the drawer, pretty complete. I particularly enjoyed the selection of tea offered and had multiple cups of tea daily. Also, if you’re kinky, they actually have protection readily available in the drawers as well 😉 Talk about taking care of your every need.
Two double beds which fits 4 adults. I like the simple yet elegant furniture and fittings, including the bedside light, colour theme and gold touches. I also have to mention how technological advance this hotel is. They have a sound system by the bed which you can connect to your phone (via Bluetooth) and play your favourite music!!! I swear I want one of those as well! Also, the bedside tables have night lights beneath which is a plus point for midnight trips to the toilet.
Their plush bedding is super comfy and pillows super fluffy, I had a good night sleep.
Beside the bed would be the bathroom and it comes with a beautiful double sink area and a separate bathtub, shower and WC. I particularly loved the gold ascent and also the built in lighting on the mirror!
The separate bathtub, shower and WC. One thing they could improve on would be to have frosted glass for the shower as well so that 2/3 people could use the bathroom at a time. Otherwise, their shower is really really nice (the water pressure was perfect!!).
Apart from their gorgeous room, they have an impressive pool which makes this hotel ideal for family vacays as well. I kid you not, I can spent half a day there.
Look how beautiful it is!!! This sorts of sets them apart from other casino hotels along Cotai Strip. I’ve personally stayed in Venetian Hotel twice and they didn’t have this type of facilities for guest. I can’t speak about others such as Parisian or Four Season but I do think this is such an ideal hotel for families with young kids! PS: Their lazy river is so perfect to just float in as well as an adult.
Within the hotel, there’s also lots of shopping to be done. But to be honest, I much prefer Venetian’s shopping scene and it is only because shops in Studio City are more upscale. Y’know shopping ain’t fun when you can’t afford it.
Just like every other hotel along the Cotai Strip, there is a huge casino awaiting to tempt people into winning a quick buck. I was fortunate to be allowed into their VIP section, Li Ying Club and it is an experience like no other.
Well, they even have a dining area for you within the casino. Super fancy and all!
Studio City by night! The infamous Ferris Wheel which is super pretty by night, this picture does not do justice.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and I must really emphasize how their top-notch guest service really made my stay here that much sweeter. It really is the people who makes a difference not the facilities of the hotel.
Till next time Macau!
